You have a great app idea (web, mobile, or cloud) and you want to get it off the ground as efficiently as possible. That's where Lean Startup methodologies and rapid prototyping can help. “Lean” is a philosophy of rapidly and efficiently testing new business ideas, while reducing risks and costs. This fun and interactive workshop will introduce you to Lean principles and guide you through the first practical steps in building your app-based business.

This is a fun, high energy, participatory workshop, so come with an idea and be ready to get down to work. We will start by articulating your value proposition. A value proposition is a simple statement that explains how your solution provides value to others. Then we will take your value proposition and start building your app using rapid prototyping techniques. The fastest way to start building your app is with simple paper and pen. Sketching out your ideas quickly allows you to rapidly get to the core features that matter to your value proposition. You can also get feedback from others very quickly and inexpensively. Having a sketch of your whole app and being able to explain it to others will save you lots of time and money down the road when you are building the real deal.

This workshop is led by Brian Krohn from Modern Logic, a serial entrepreneur who has used Lean Startup techniques to create a host of products ranging from neurosurgical devices to apps that help you sleep better. The workshop is hosted by Modern Logic, a digital product development company that specializes in building apps that build businesses at any scale.
