So, you finally settled on that perfect name for your startup. Next up: a never-ending cycle of branding, marketing, and advertising that never comes cheap. But how would you like to be a couple years in, with everything finally running smooth, only to receive a cease-and-desist letter that outlines all the ways you are illegally infringing on another business’s registered trademark? Trust us, it’s an awful situation to find yourself in. Best case scenario: you spend a ton of money and find a way to keep using the name. Worst case: you spend a ton of money and you’re forced to completely rebrand your company.
This event will focus on introducing startups to the importance of a federal trademark, and how it must be one of the first steps in any new product or service being brought to market. From how to place a hold on a trademark that isn’t yet officially ready for use, to the intricacies of choosing which of the 45 federal class(es) best fit your business, we will touch on every aspect of trademark registration, maintenance, and enforcement. And we’ll probably throw in a good word for our firm, Mighty Marks.
To top things off, we’ll end our event with a complimentary breakfast provided by our awesome host Nolo’s Kitchen & Bar.
